While off-the shelf Servo-Tek generators are among the sturdiest available, we realize that certain applications call for an even tougher unit. To meet that need, we offer ruggedized construction on most standard models.
These special units are designed with sturdy aluminum housings and strong mounting flanges. Other features offered include extra-heavy armature shafts and bearings.
When you are looking for strength and durability or for resistance to foreign materials, consider the Servo-Tek ruggedized approach.

Examples

Though only two examples are shown here, many other models are available.
These are both designed so that their precision machined flanges may be bolted to the end bell of heavy-duty industrial motors or other prime movers.

The modular ST-13212-1
PY and 5PY Alternative

The primary feature of the ST-13212-1 is its mechanical flexibility. If the unit fails, the internal tachometer generator can be repaired or replaced, without having to replace the expensive anodized casting. ST-13212-1 gives an output signal of 50 V/1000 rpm at speeds up to 5,000 rpm. This tough generator has a shaft diameter of 5/16". Electrical specifications are the same as those for D Series. The versatile ST-12970
Reliance Motor Tachometer

ST-12970 is available with output voltages up to 24 V/1000 rpm. As can be seen in the accompanying photo, its shaft is equipped with a silicone rubber coupling designed to be driven by a motor shaft with a 0.167"-wide slot.
ST-12970 flexibility allows us to build the device with various tachometer shafts and other commercially-available couplings. Speeds may also be raised to 8,000 or 12,000 rpm, depending on output voltage.
